Meet Stacey of Paci-Plushies!

Use coupon code Mommys Idea for 10% off at
Tell us a little about you . . . My name is Stacy Dallman and I’m a 26 year old mother of two that enjoys tranquil walks in the park, soothing beach side retreats and pampering myself at lavish resort spas. Just kidding, who has time for all that when you’re chasing around a wild one year old and his wacky four year old sister all day long while simultaneously launching a new business?!
What is the name of your business and where can we find it? My business is called Nookums™ and my company’s first Mom Invented product can be found at
Tell us about it . . . My first products are The Paci-Plushies™. Paci-Plushies™ are the solution that every mom of a pacifier using baby or toddler has been looking for. The soft, lightweight plush animals connect to nearly all Name Brand infant pacifiers, making the pacifier easier to find around the house and easy for baby to hold.
Is it mom-owned, invented, created . . .? Paci-Plushies™ are Mommy Invented, Mommy Owned and Mommy Created. They truly are a labor of love, which is evident in the quality and design of the plush animals. Do you have a favorite product? My favorite Paci-Plushie™ is Pasiley The Panda™. The only product that I cannot live without is my MacBook.
A little about your entrepreneur journey so far? I have learned more in this past year through trial and error than I would have ever learned had I gone to college for a Business degree. It goes to show that anyone with a passion, anyone with a dream can achieve whatever they put their heart to. I was a regular 25 year old mother of two small children when I set out on this journey. I didn’t have the slightest clue about navigating through China to manufacture my product, or how to implement PR to gain exposure, or how to set up a website to sell the product. I’ve learned everything along the way with the invaluable guidance and support from the wonderful, like-minded women at It’s been a year of highs and lows and everything in between, but it’s all been worthwhile and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
Where else can people find you? (blog, facebook, twitter, etc.)
On a personal note, what do you love most about being a mom? I love seeing my children develop and become positive, loving, compassionate human beings. They remind me how to be compassionate in every aspect of my life.
Your funniest mom story? Or a sweet moment? My daughter just recently gave up her beloved pacifier. She is four. We were very proud of her for finally giving it up, and one night I said to her: “Ava, I’m so proud that you don’t try to steal Noah’s Paci-Plushies™ from him anymore” and she said “Mommy, I don’t a paci anymore, now I just help you with the business for the Paci-Plushies™.” It caught me off guard because I was surprised that she even knew the word business. I said, “Ava, you’re right, you’re a Big Business Girl now, I love it when you help me with the business.”

Help Baby Sleep!

There are a million "sleep experts" out there and as a new mother, I read many of their books. While everyone has their own opinion, I did find that there were common threads among most of them. Start a routine from the beginning, create a comfortable atmosphere, you can't spoil a baby under 3 months old . . .
In my adventure as a mom, I have found some interesting and unique products. Here are a few that help with sleep, for you and baby! (All can be found at )

Sleep Sheep on the Go by Cloud b

We discovered this when our little guy was a few months old, but could definitely have used it sooner. It has four soothing nature sounds (While I think "whale" is questionable as far as being soothing, my husband and son love it.) We even have adult friends who sleep with this product!

Lavender Lab by Cloud b

This lab smells so good, I just can't even begin to describe it. The attached blanket is silky smooth and the lab is super cuddly. There is also a baby lab that smells just as wonderful!

The Happiest Baby on the Block

The Happiest Baby on the Block gives you 5 simple steps that help calm and soothe your baby. One of the main points of the program is using white noise. Babies are so used to it being loud in the womb, Dr. Karp says that simulating that noise is part of how we can activate their "calming reflex." This worked very well for us and the CD was a wonderful tool in helping our little one fall asleep!

It Couldn't Be Done

My favorite poem. May it make you smile and believe in your dreams. (Read it out loud, it's even more fun.)
It Couldn't Be Done
Edgar A. Guest
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done, But, he with a chuckle replied That "maybe it couldn’t," but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you’ll never do that; At least no one ever has done it"; But he took off his coat and he took off his hat, And the first thing we knew he’d begun it. With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin, Without any doubting or quiddit, He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done, There are thousands to prophesy failure; There are thousands to point out to you one by one, The dangers that wait to assail you. But just buckle it in with a bit of a grin, Just take off your coat and go to it; Just start to sing as you tackle the thing That "couldn’t be done," and you’ll do it.

Meet Suzie of Zeebabee!

In celebration of our launch (on August 13th!), we're interviewing some other moms who have recently launched their own company.
Today, meet Suzie of Zeebabee Designs!

Use coupon code shoptoday10 for 10% off!

Tell us a little about you . . . A little bit about me…well for starters I am married to the most wonderful man. We compliment each other wonderfully…I am the free spirited creative one and he is the down to earth sensible one. It’s a great balance. And we have 2 beautiful boys…ages 4 and almost 2. They are the world to us!! What is the name of your business and where can we find it? Zeebabee Designs We just launched our website….you can find all of our fabulous products at Tell us about it . . . We are starting with our first 2 products: The Burp See and the Baby See T-shirt. It’s pretty plain and simple. All of our ideas and products stem from these facts: -Infants reflexively prefer to look at high-contrast edges and patterns. -Objects with patterns having 100% contrast (black and white) are the easiest for newborns and young infants to see. -Research proves high contrast graphics improve baby’s early recognition. So we took that knowledge and thought it would be a great idea to put black and white designs where newborns and infants spend most of their time. And that is how the Burp See burp cloth and the Baby See T-shirt were invented!! Is it mom-owned, invented, created . . .? Yes it is mom-owned and created!! This venture has enriched my life so much already. I remember reading something and the person had said that once they started their business each day was something was new and different. And they were right…every morning I wake up I don’t know what it holds for me. But it is always something exciting!! Do you have a favorite product? Well, I love both my products but if I had to pick a favorite of each of them I would say the Posh Pink Burp See and well, you know it truly is a toss up between the black and the white Baby See T-shirt for Mommy….sorry! I love them both. And they are so comfy!! I do have to tell you that the new Zeebabee tote…which is not on the website yet (but will be available soon) is a favorite of mine. A little about your entrepreneur journey so far? It’s funny….when I first started this journey, it all seemed so simple in my mind. I would create my product, I would make it, and I would sell it. Well, the ignorant me didn’t realize all of what goes into this business venture. And the knowledge that I have gained in the last year of my life is priceless. I believe in myself and in my products and that is all I can do!! What has been the hardest part of starting your own business? The hardest part would be finding the time to get it all done. With two small children…time is very important. I do not want to sacrifice my quality time with my kids. So that has been a struggle…especially now that it is summer and the kids want to play outside all day. But I stay up a little later at night than I used to and I seem to manage so far. We’ll see!! The best part? Watching my dream turn into reality! That simple…. Where else can people find you? Unfortunately, I am just getting myself out there. As of right now you can check out my blog at On a personal note, what do you love most about being a mom? I know it sounds cliché….but I just love the unconditional love I get from the boys and that I give them. It’s indescribable…. I also love that I have a fan club now…lol…. My boys!! Your funniest mom story? Or a sweet moment? I have so many funny mom stories that I call my mom almost daily sharing them with her. But for some reason I cannot think of one of them. That’s called Mommy Brain. All you mothers know what I am talking about. As soon as you have kids your brain turns to mush and you cannot remember a thing. It slowly starts to come back…and then you have another one and then it is mush again.

But a sweet moment would be anytime my 4 year old looks at me with his big brown eyes and says…”Mommy, I love you the most.” Makes me melt every time! And then I know I am doing a good job!!
