Tell us a little about you . . .

I am the mother of 2 little girls ages 3 and 5. I’m a former sales executive for a Fortune 500 company. My children are my inspiration.

What is your business and where can we find it?

Peeka Productions ® creates personalized DVD videos and personalized books. The Personalized books are sold on-line at www.peekastories.com. Our Peeka Like Me SM books include a character designed to look like the child for whom the book is created. These books are one-of-a-kind just like the kids. The website includes a custom character maker so everyone can preview their personal character.

Our Personalized DVD videos are entertaining, educational cartoons that feature parents and other loved-ones as the host. The personalized DVD videos are created primarily in our Chicago Studios and available for groups in other cities. More information can be found at www.peekaproductions.com.

Is it mom-owned, invented, created . . .?

Yes. I thought up the concept and hired a team of illustrators, animators and graphic designers to help me develop both books and personalized DVDs.

A little about your entrepreneur journey so far?

Going from working with the support of 6,000 coworkers to running my own business has been exhilarating, challenging and overwhelmingly rewarding. Peeka’s production studios are just a few blocks from my home, so I’m always near my family and near our hub of activities.

The marketing, advertising and promotion of our books and personalized DVD services has been the key to our initial success. As we continue to grow, we continue to seek out opportunities to get in front of parents, grandparents and others who would enjoy our books and DVDs.
